About our Superfruit Peach:

Peach is cultivated in almost all countries with a cool climate.

They have an outer skin that is reddish-yellow, while the flesh is either white or yellow.

Peaches that have white flesh are usually very sweet and have very little acidity. However, the yellow-fleshed ones typically have an acidic tang, coupled with sweetness. A peach is extremely rich in vitamin A and potassium, apart from abounding in several other nutrients, making them rank very high in nutritional value and good for the health of an individual. In the following lines, we have provided several health and nutrition benefits of eating peaches.

The peach is a deciduous tree first cultivated in China and later transplanted to Persia, Europe, and the Americas.

Peaches and nectarines are the same species, but commercially regarded as different fruits due to the lack of fuzz on nectarine skin.

China is the largest producer of peaches and nectarines, followed by Mediterranean countries like Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Greece.

Peach trees can grow up to 7 meters tall but are usually pruned to be around 3-4 meters tall.

Cultivated peaches come in different varieties, with white-fleshed peaches being popular in Asia and yellow-fleshed peaches favored in Europe and North America.

Raw peach flesh is primarily composed of water, with carbohydrates making up 10% of its content, and negligible amounts of protein and fat. A medium-sized peach, weighing 100 grams, provides 39 calories and contains small amounts of essential nutrients, although none significantly meets the Daily Value (DV). Similarly, raw nectarines exhibit low nutrient content. The glycemic load of an average peach is 5, akin to other low-sugar fruits. A medium peach offers at least 2% of the DV for vitamins E and K, niacin, folate, iron, choline, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, and copper. Peaches are also a moderate source of antioxidants and vitamin C, vital for connective tissue formation in the human body.

Peaches are also a good source of vitamins and minerals.

They contain notable amounts of:

Vitamin C: About 10% of the Daily Value (DV)                         Vitamin A: About 6% of the DV                        Potassium: About 8% of the DV

Vitamin E: About 4% of the DV                          Vitamin K: About 5% of the DV                           Folate: About 3% of the DV

Niacin: About 4% of the DV                    Vitamin B6: About 5% of the DV                      Magnesium: About 2% of the DV
