About our Superfruit Raspberry:

Raspberries are edible fruits that come from various plant species in the Rubus genus. They are perennial with woody stems and are cultivated in northern Europe and North America. Raspberries are rich in vitamin C, manganese, and dietary fiber. They are aggregate fruits, developing from the distinct carpels of a single flower. Unlike blackberries, the torus of a raspberry remains on the plant, leaving a hollow core in the fruit. Raspberries are grown for the fresh fruit market and for processing into frozen fruit, purée, juice, and dried fruit. They require ample sun, water, and well-drained soil for optimal growth.

Raspberries are a popular fruit that comes in various types and colors, including red, black, and purple. Most commercial red raspberries are hybrids of Rubus idaeus and R. strigosus, while black raspberries are grown commercially in limited areas. Raspberry plants are resistant to disease and pests but need to be staked or trellised to control their growth. Red varieties are usually propagated by suckers or cuttings, while black and purple varieties are propagated by burying the tips of the shoots. Raspberries are a delicious and nutritious fruit that can be enjoyed fresh or used in various culinary creations.

Raspberries, particularly red ones, are rich in antioxidants like vitamin C, quercetin, and ellagic acid, which help reduce the risk of diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

They are high in dietary fiber, promoting satiety, improving digestive health, and fostering the growth of healthy intestinal bacteria, which boosts immunity.

Studies suggest raspberries may have cancer-fighting properties, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and reducing the risk of developing arthritis.
